OUR SPEAKER
Tanner Olson is an author, poet, and speaker. Across the country, he shares poetry and tells stories of grace and hope. His work has been described as “hopefully unique and inviting” as it blends faith, humor, and curiosity. Tanner is the author of multiple books, doesn’t take himself too seriously, drinks his coffee black, and cheers for the Orlando Magic. − All rooms and buildings are easily accessible on ground level or by elevator.
− All rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board.
− Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire campus.
− NO alcohol is allowed on retreat premises. Please leave any wine/liquor at home. Thank you.
− Bring personal toiletries, bug spray, a refillable water bottle, and a sweater or jacket.
DIRECTIONS to Epworth by the Sea Retreat Center
After reaching Brunswick, Georgia, take the F.J. Torras Causeway east off U.S. Highway 17 to St. Simons Island. At the end of the causeway, stay in the left lane and continue north toward Sea Island Road. Go straight through the traffic light, staying on Sea Island Road. Turn left at the first street marked Hamilton Road and then right onto Arthur J. Moore Drive.
DEADLINES, FEES, and REFUNDS
− Registration and Room Fees MUST be received by Friday, August 1, 2025
− Room fee includes six meals: Dinner-Friday, Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner–Saturday, Breakfast/Lunch-Sunday
− Cancellation Fee: $50.00
− No refunds after Friday, August 15, 2025
RETREAT SCHEDULE
Registration begins at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 5. Dinner on Friday night is included in the fees. A full weekend of activities is planned!
SERVANT EVENT We will assist the Lutheran Braille Workers work for the IRIS Lending Library for the Blind (IRIS = “I Read I See”). This is a lending library run solely by volunteers. They lend out books for free to legally visually impaired and blind handicapped individuals. Books are mailed free of charge to/from individuals throughout the U.S. and Canada. Their purpose is ministering to these people by providing Biblically-based Christian books in Braille, large print, audio, and other specialized formats that reflect the Good News.
GIFTS FROM THE HEART | Recipient: The Village - A Safe Harbor for Young Mothers
The mission of Safe Harbor Center is to provide services that promote security and stability for at-risk families, children, and individuals. Each piece of Safe Harbor Center’s history comes together to form a place of safety, health, and hope for children and youth throughout Coastal Georgia. Safe Harbor is located in Brunswick, GA.
A list of donations needed will be in a special Evangel issue. Cash and check donations are accepted. Make checks out to LWML FL-GA District and note “Gifts from the Heart”. LWML will provide them with one check.
