The purpose of this page is to provide a way for us as sisters in Christ to stay in touch. It is meant to offer a vehicle by which we can encourage one another and share ideas. A space has been reserved for your zone to summarize events such as Rallies, Workshops, Retreats, Prayer Services, Joy Days, LWML Sunday, Mission Sundays, etc. Photos may be submitted. Individual societies may also contribute by sharing Bible Study resources, member development and fund-raising ideas, mite initiatives, craft projects, recipes for large gatherings, etc. Send submissions via email to Carol Alberts. Be sure to include photos as an attachment.
The Tropical Zone held their Spring Rally at the Lutheran Church of Nassau on March 19th.

LWML Tropical Zone Spring Rally - Planting a Relationship Garden
Nassau, Bahamas
Our rally weekend began when 24 of us boarded the Carnival cruise ship, Imagination, at the Port of Miami on Friday, 3/18. We sailed away at 4:00 PM and arrived at the Nassau the next morning. At noon we boarded a van taxi that took us to the Nassau Lutheran Church for our rally. We were enthusiastically met by Pastor Boodle, society president Lona Wells, and a group of delightful women who made us feel so welcome. After a time of socializing, our rally began with worship led by Pastor Boodle. The business meeting was held, special guests were introduced, the gifts for the children's hostel were dedicated, a Bible study was presented, we ate from a fabulous buffet (which included yummy conch fritters), and we ran out of time to complete our agenda. But that was OK because we made time to "Plant our Relationship Garden". All too soon it was time for us to board our taxi to return to the ship.
There were 15 of us from the Tropical Zone and 8 members of the LWML FL-GA District. The pastors with us were Pastor Alan Sielk, past district pastoral counselor with his wife and daughter, Pastor Chris Patterson, our zone pastoral counselor with his wife, and Pastor Donald Stier, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Keys with his wife. We were honored to have, among the district board members, President Marilyn Treanor and 2 past presidents, Jean Roehrs and Lois Ford. Also joining us were Mary Karrick, Henry and Carol Alberts, Steven and Karen McCarthy.
Our cruise was great fun! There's not enough room here to list all the things we did. The weather couldn't have been any better and there was smooth sailing all the way. We had evening devotions and worship together, did lots of many kinds of "playing", and too much eating of wonderful food. God is so good and, as we disembarked on Monday, 3/21, we knew we had spent a special weekend with our Lord that we wouldn't soon forget!
