The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), with a membership of over 250,000, is the official women’s organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. For over 65 years the organization has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global missions.
Join with your fellow LWML sisters each Monday at noon to pray for our district and national mission grant recipients, our LCMS missionaries, the LWML and thank and praise God for the joy we have in serving our Lord together.
LWML Mission Statement
The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
Primary Goals for LWML For the 2009-2011 Biennium
- Growing in the Lord – Through intentional study of the Word, women of today find guidance for their lives and are encouraged in their personal daily walk with the Lord.
- Embracing Our Diversity – The body of Christ grows and is strengthened when sisters of every age, class, culture, and ethnic group are sought out to participate actively in the mission of LWML.
- Sharing the Heart and Identity of LWML – LWML enables and equips its members and advocates to share with others the vision and direction of LWML as it emphasizes mission outreach locally and globally.
THE DISTRICT MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Florida-Georgia District LWML is to share the love of Christ with women of all ages and diversities and to foster a recognition that the mission field exists both at home and abroad.
